According to the old JBT 8734-1998 standard (hereinafter referred to as the old version), the new version is JB/T 8734-2012 (hereinafter referred to as the new version). According to the new version of the standard, the specific changes are as follows:

2. The new version modifies some reference standards.

10. The new version adds the nominal cross-sectional area range and corresponding requirements of the cable conductor in Part II.

11. The new version modifies the upper limit of cable od for 10 and 16 in BVR.

12. Rename part 3 of the old version of "Connecting flexible wires" to "Connecting flexible wires and flexible cables".

13. The rated voltage U0/U is 300/500V is added in the new version.

14. The new version adds RVV and RVB cables and comprehensive performance.

15. The specifications and corresponding technical requirements of RVS cable have been added in the new version

16. The new version adds the specifications and corresponding technical requirements of AVVR cable.

17. The fifth part of the new version adds the model and specifications, technical requirements, pitch requirements and inspection requirements of RVVPS cable, etc.
